Sorry I just couldnt take that campground......That place should be burnt to the ground and the ashes put in a land fill.....
We went to Mammoth Springs Arkansas and floated the Silver River....campground was better and the sites were much nicer
Mammoth Springs was about 45 min south of where we were
The Silver was a much more technical river from Dam3 to many islands was about 9 miles and were given approx 20 water falls about 2 ft tall another 8 or so at 3 ft tall and a couple at 4 ft tall plus a double S curve that riveled six flags thunder river this was known as Dead Mans Curve....will post a slide show of the river that shows a lot of the falls but most I could not shoot because of trying to get through them.....This river is a blast and will test your ability and is class 1-2 and class 3 rapids and falls by midwest standards.....

Wow sounds like a great river Rick. I am glad you were able to salvage your trip and turn it into a great float.
Sue and I also had a good time despite not being able to float the North Fork. We ended up staying at Hammond Camp with Alan and Chris at the North Fork Recreation Area right where Hwy CC crosses the North Fork. It is about 5 miles below Twin Bridges. Very nice Forest Service campground. Spent Saturday swimming in the river. 1st at the access point, then down at Blue Springs after lunch.
Went up to Twin Bridges Saturday evening and had dinner with Jim G & Shawn and Phil & Tammie. The food and company were outstanding. Glad we were able to spend a little time with you guys.

Well, the weekend wasn't a total lose since we went of the 15 mile float and the river was fantastic. We didn't get to spend much time with eveyone though. Luckily Jim and DS camped right next to us and we floated together. Shawn added a lot of fun to the float.
We WILL NOT BE BACK there next year. We checked out Lost Cabins Resort and found the owner very nice and straight forward. This might be an option but I think we need to decide if we want to go back to the North Fork next year. Rick, we don't blame you for leaving. I'm very glad you found a good river to float. Maybe next year...
Shaun and I had fun. The 15 mile float wore me out. Shaun had a blast having squirt gun fights with everyone, especially near the springs (very very cold water!!). Yea, the campground wasn't the best, but we survived. I took a few pics/videos from the float that I'll post soon. Rick, the float you did sounds great.
