My name is John, I am 53 years old, married and have 2 grown daughters and two grandaughters. I just relocated here (St Peters, MO) from Southern California for my work. I have been camping for 35 years. Primarily backcountry desert camping. I m not used to all these trees and shade, it's awesome. The wife isn't a big camping fan so I have been going it alone because I don't have a camping partner anymore. I am primarily into REAL primitive camping, backcountry camping, bushcraft, survival, hiking, backpacking, fishing, shooting, hunting. I am looking for like minded people with similiar interests. However, I am not a big fan of crowded campgrounds. Not my idea of camping. I look forward to meeting all of you.
We are glad you decided to sign up with ORCC! The type of camping you discribed, is exactly how we like to camp. We mainly do National Forest campgrounds, usually no amenities, but great views and a stream to float and fish!
We try to do some type of event every month and we will be posting the 2014 calendar shortly. If you have any questions, just shout!
ORCC GEAR is one of the sponsors of the MO4WD Missouri 4Wheel Drive Club. I checked out your post on tow vehicles, Great looking vehicle you have! The reason I bring this up, this Sunday night MO4WD will hold their monthly meeting, if your interested let me know and I'll give you the contact and the phone number of the key people. They are Great guys and they are holding their monthly meeting up close to where you live. Let me know if your interested?
If interested, You can call us at 314.852.5101
Looking forward to meeting up with you this year.

The farther one gets into the wilderness, the greater is the attraction of its lonely freedom.

Thanks Alan and Chris, good to know. I look forward to seeing the 2014 calendar. Grand daughter #2 is due any minute now. The wife and are at DEFCON 4 right now. The bags are packed, just waiting for the call. I probably won't make Sunday's meeting, but I definetely look forward to meeting you and other members at future meetings.
My name is Dennis and I found out about the site from an advertisement on the back of an event t-shirt. I primarily camp in the Mark Twain off of forest roads and undeveloped campgrounds. Getting to the camp is half the fun. I have a lifted 4 runner with all the clearance to go places most wouldn't think of going. Also have a 2011 TX TRD Tacoma for the easier access sites. Both have lockers and very capable. My goal is to meet folks that want to hit the off the beaten path. Establish base camp or overland between sites to sleep. I mountain bike, 4 wheel drive, atv, and hike. I look forward to getting out and doing some off road camping.......
I'm name is Sean and am I'm an Adventure Photographer. When I'm not in my office you'll find me backpacking into the bush, canoeing down a river, driving my Jeep into the Great White North, XC skiing into the Gatineau hillside or riding one of my bikes (bicycles) looking for new and wonderful places. I joined this forum to learn about new locations and meet like-minded people.

I'm Jonathan and a youtuber, always off in an adventure or scouting places for one when now working (admittedly on my phone a but much looking while working). I always try to have my cameras, both of my handhelds and if possible my drone out to take amazing photos and video for everyone. Hopefully I can turn this into a full time job!
